The Word Games - The Impact of Sports Chiropractic
The World Games (TWG), organised by the International World Games Association (IWGA), is a premier international multi-sport event held every four years. FICS proudly delivered sports chiropractic healthcare services throughout the Games, supporting not only athletes, but also the volunteers, officials, and operational personnel essential to the successful delivery of the event.
Athlete Healthcare Support: The FICS sports chiropractic team played a vital role in supporting athlete performance, recovery, mobility, and injury management across the Games. From competition preparation to post-event recovery, sports chiropractic care contributed to helping athletes perform at their highest level throughout the event.
The strong utilisation of FICS services further reflects the growing international recognition of sports chiropractic care as an important component of elite athlete healthcare and multidisciplinary sports medicine teams.
Operational Workforce Support: Significant demand for FICS services was also observed among coaches, officials, judges, referees, medical personnel, media representatives, and Games volunteers. This highlighted the important role sports chiropractic care played in supporting the wellbeing and operational readiness of the workforce responsible for delivering a successful international multi-sport event. The data demonstrated exceptionally strong engagement from accredited support personnel throughout the Games environment.
Global Impact: The diversity of nations utilising FICS services demonstrated broad international trust and recognition of sports chiropractic care among both sporting and operational personnel. Importantly, these services supported individuals from nations and organisations with varying levels of healthcare resources, further reinforcing FICS’ commitment to accessible and equitable healthcare delivery within the international sporting environment.

The following reports are derived from healthcare data collected by the FICS delegation during The World Games, with further analysis refined to individual International Sports Federations that participated in the Games.
These reports present FICS Sports Chiropractic impact data relating to the utilisation of healthcare services by federation athletes, volunteers, coaches, officials, and support personnel throughout the event. Not all federation reports are currently available, and only federations that requested individual analysis are presented below.
The reports are based on clinical observations, practitioner experiences, and healthcare data collected during the Games. Their purpose is to provide each federation with meaningful insights into the healthcare services utilised during competition, while supporting informed discussion around athlete wellbeing, recovery, performance support, and future healthcare planning within their sport.
FICS aims to continue expanding the availability of federation-specific reports and hopes these reports contribute to ongoing collaboration with International Federations, while supporting future discussions regarding integrated healthcare delivery, athlete support strategies, and healthcare operations at international sporting events.
