FICS INTERNATIONAL MENTORING PROGRAM

Find Guidance. Share Experience. Grow Together.

A six-month program connecting chiropractic students and early-career graduates with experienced sports chiropractors for practical guidance, honest conversation and lasting global connection.

PROGRAM LENGTH 6 Months
CONNECTION One Session Each Month
FORMAT Virtual or In Person

WHY JOIN THE PROGRAM?

Your Career Should Not Be a Journey You Make Alone.

FICS is more than education and accreditation. It is a global professional community where experience is shared, relationships cross borders and people at every career stage have something valuable to contribute.

The Mentoring Program helps students and early-career chiropractors find their place within that global family by connecting them with someone who understands the path ahead.

Moving from study into professional practice can feel uncertain. A mentor creates room for the questions that do not always fit into a classroom: how to prepare for event work, build confidence, make career decisions and develop a trusted professional network.

For mentors, the relationship is an opportunity to give back, share lessons earned through experience and stay connected to the ideas and ambitions of the profession’s next generation. Both people strengthen the wider FICS community through the connection they build.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What to Know Before You Apply

Who can apply as a mentee?

The program is intended for final-year chiropractic students and recent graduates who completed their degree within five years of the application year. Fourth-year students may also be considered based on their application and interests.

Who can apply as a mentor?

Mentors must be current FICS members through an NCSC, RCSC or individual membership, have at least five years’ experience as a practising chiropractor, and have completed, enrolled in, or expressed interest in the FICS ICSC pathway.

How much time does the program require?

The formal program runs for six months, with one mentor–mentee session each month. Participants should also allow time to prepare useful questions and follow up on agreed actions.

Do mentor and mentee need to live in the same country?

No. The program supports virtual video calls and international connections. In-person meetings may be possible where location allows.

Does mentoring replace clinical supervision?

No. Mentoring complements formal education, clinical supervision and field-based learning by offering broader career guidance, professional insight and support.

Can a mentee apply again in another year?

Yes. Repeat applications are accepted, although preference may be given to first-time candidates so new participants can access the opportunity.

Is placement guaranteed?

No. Placement depends on available program capacity and the ability to form a suitable mentor–mentee connection.
