FICS maintains formal relationships with International Sporting Federations and key stakeholders, supporting the integration of sports chiropractic within high-performance sport environments.

International Collaboration

These partnerships are based on the values of the Olympic Movement and aligned with the principles of the Olympic Agenda, including solidarity, sustainability, integrity, inclusivity, and athlete-centred approaches across all levels of sport.

As the international federation for sports chiropractic within the global sports medicine community, FICS supports the delivery of integrated, evidence-informed healthcare within multidisciplinary medical teams, contributing to athlete health, safety, and performance across training, competition, and recovery.

Working collaboratively with International Federations, Organising Committees, medical commissions, and local healthcare providers to support coordinated athlete care at sporting events.

Supporting equitable access to healthcare services for accredited athletes and officials, in accordance with diversity, inclusion, and host country regulations.

Education & Capacity Building
Supporting educational initiatives, knowledge exchange, professional development, and the development of best practice in athlete healthcare and sports medicine.

Contributing to the sustainable development of sport and athlete welfare initiatives across emerging and established sporting communities.

Event Collaboration

FICS-appointed practitioners may provide sports chiropractic services at approved international sporting events within an integrated multidisciplinary medical team.

Services are delivered in accordance with:

  • international standards of sports medicine and athlete care;
  • event medical protocols and local public health requirements;
  • collaboration with event medical leadership and organising committees; and
  • FICS operational standards and ethical framework.

Member - AIOS

The Association of International Organisations for Sport (AIOS) is a non-profit association composed of international organisations with a focus on the promotion, development, organisation, and support of sport, physical activity, and related values.

AIOS was established on 19 October 2022 following the restructuring of GAISF. Its registered office is located at the Maison du Sport International, Avenue de Rhodanie 54, Lausanne, Switzerland.

FICS is a founding member of AIOS and is represented within its governance structure.

International World Games

The International World Games Association (IWGA) is an important partner of FICS.

Since 2021, FICS has held an appointed position on the IWGA Medical & Anti-Doping Commission through formal representation.

The Medical & Anti-Doping Commission is responsible for the planning, coordination, and oversight of medical services and anti-doping operations for The World Games.

The IWGA is the sole administrator of The World Games, an 11-day international multi-sport event held every four years. It is recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and comprises 39 International Sports Federations.

Established in 1980, the IWGA was created to strengthen relationships between International Sports Federations and promote excellence in sport. It supports the organisation of World Championships and international competitions within a multi-sport event framework known as The World Games.

International Fair Play

FICS is a member of the International Fair Play Association.

Fair play is a concept encompassing a range of values that are integral to sport and relevant beyond the sporting context.

These include fair competition, respect, friendship, team spirit, equality, integrity, solidarity, tolerance, care, excellence, joy, and sport free from doping. These principles underpin behaviour both on and off the field of play.

Fair play is commonly expressed through key principles such as fair competition and respect:

Success in sport is defined not only by winning, but by competing in accordance with fair and honest practice.

Respect
Respect includes adherence to the rules of sport, as well as respect for opponents, teammates, officials, and the wider sporting community.

Olympic Recognised Sports Federations

FICS supports a number of Olympic-recognised international sports federations through formal partnerships and the provision of sports chiropractic care at international sporting events.

World Squash; International Darts Federation; International Sports Shooting Federation; International Table Tennis; International Federation of Sports Climbing.

Recognised International Sporting Federations

FICS supports a growing number of internationally recognised sports federations who share the same objective of promoting physical and sporting activities for the well-being of society, and to unite and develop communities in and through sport while respecting the values of excellence, inclusiveness and sustainability. These relationships are based on shared standards and collaboration in athlete health, safety, and performance.
