1. ACTIVITY: Summary of activity within your NCSC over the last quarter. If there has not been much activity in the last quarter, you may consider including any projects you are working on, issues your NCSC is facing, discussions or growth with which you may like support. | We have started the year with a number of events, however we thought we would easily fill these events and we didn't have enough docs volunteer for these first two events. This concerns me as it highlights the number of docs whom have immigrated in the past 2 years, majority of them being our younger docs who worked events. We are also putting together a combined upper and lower extremity Hands on Module for mid year as we were due to have one in April 2020, which had to obviously be cancelled. we have not had an Hands on Module run in 5 years in SA and our local docs have a back up in needing to complete this module for their ICSC. We are also going to run a female doc workshop, similar to the student workshop run in Nov 2021. This is to assist the female new graduates in developing fieldside competency as they haven't been able to work many events as students which will have ramifications into the future. |
CHALLENGES: List any challenges which your NCSC are facing, or your Executives are working to solve. (List N/A if none at this stage) | Immigration Its been 2 and bit years since we worked an event. we have seen a large number (close to 20%) of our members immigrate because of geopolitical reasons. The majority of these docs were also the bulk of the docs who volunteered to work events. General apathy as we haven't been able to maintain a culture of sports Chiropractic with no events. This in turn is one of the reasons I believe that we have so many younger docs not wanting to work events or fearful of the pressure working fieldside. |
