The Paris Open Jiu-Jitsu tournament is an annual event that takes place at the end of April and attracts athletes worldwide. This year, the FICS was present to provide support and medical care to the participants. The tournament is an important event for athletes looking to accumulate points for the selection process of the world championships in various categories.

This Open of jiu-jitsu is one of the events to be done in order to have its points for the selections in the world championships of the adults and masters next July, Mongolia and the world championships junior at the end of August in Kazakhstan.  Although some nations were absent, the event provided an opportunity for athletes to reconnect with familiar faces and compete against skilled opponents. Over the course of two days, four European chiropractors were on hand to provide care for athletes, referees, officials, and coaches from five continents who relied on the expertise of the FICS medical team.

We were 4 European Chiropractors for the duration of two days of competition:

  • Audrey Yargui, France
  • Aouregan Logé, France
  • Rolland Claes, Belgium
  • Frazer Oakman, Germany

On the table, we treated athletes, referees, officials, and coaches from 5 continents who trusted FICS for the quality of their volunteering doctors. Despite the rainy weather, the sun shone brightly through the smiles and expressions of gratitude from the athletes who were treated by the FICS team. The quality of care provided by the volunteers left a lasting impression on those who received treatment, and the weather did not dampen the spirits of anyone involved.

As the event drew to a close, the FICS team could reflect on a successful two days and the positive impact they had made on the athletes, coaches, and officials at the Paris Open Jiu-Jitsu tournament. With the world championships on the horizon, the FICS is poised to continue providing exceptional care to athletes from around the globe.
