Dr. Ivonne Mosquera-Schmidt

Ivonne is a Paralympian who competes in the T11 classification in track and field. She was born in Bogota, Columbia and attended Stanford University graduating in 1999 with a degree in mathematics. She received a Masters Degree in finance in 2008 from CUNY Brooklyn College. She then attended Northwestern Health Sciences University receiving a degree in massage therapy. She is also a Reiki Master.

Ivonne is a one-time Paralympian (2016) competing in the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, placing 8th in the 1500m. Her career highlights include:

  • American Record holder for T11 women in the 1500-meter, 3000, 5000 and marathon distances
  • World Champion in Paratriathlon in the Sprint and Olympic distances (totally blind women)

She speaks fluent French, Italian and Spanish. In her spare time she enjoys doing yoga, cross country skiing, learning new languages, motivational speaking, teaching and partaking in triathlons.
