Part I: Your NCSC Activities

Name person submitting reportLuke Nelson
Your position in your NCSCPresident
Date of annual meeting21/05/2022
1. ACTIVITY: Summary of activity within your NCSC over the last quarter. If there has not been much activity in the last quarter, you may consider including any projects you are working on, issues your NCSC is facing, discussions or growth with which you may like support.

We recently held our annual Sports Chiropractic Symposium in Melbourne on 20-22nd May which featured a combined Upper & Lower ICSC module. We were happy with the attendance being the first face to face conference since 2019, with just over 150 attendees across both streams. Once we have the feedback from attendees, we will hold a meeting with FICS representatives to discuss the wins & losses and start to plan for 2023's event.

We also discussed the opportunity that presents with the Commonwealth Games to be held in Victoria in 2026 and the Olympic Games in Brisbane in 2032 and working towards having chiropractic representation at these events.

With more events coming back on the calendar, we look to resume SCA working at these events.

Lastly, come 1st July, we will also see a change in the committee with Brad Immerman taking over from myself as Chair of SCA. I'd like to thank my committee for all their support during my 4 year term.

- Does your NCSC have student members? Yes
- Do you charge the students for membership? No
- Do you register the students with FICS (noting that FICS do not charge for student members)? Unsure on this actually, Stuti & Glynis from ACA deal with FICS regarding membership. Trish will know if these student members' details are passed on.
- What would you like to see FICS achieve in the 2022-2025 period? The continued growth of membership around the world & working towards cementing our involvement at Olympics.

CHALLENGES: List any challenges which your NCSC are facing, or your Executives are working to solve. (List N/A if none at this stage)

Membership numbers have dwindled over the last few years, however, a commitment from ACA to lower membership fees and the return to face to face learning should mean an increase in membership numbers going forward. We also have our lowest student numbers and also poor student attendance at the recent symposium, so we had some constructive discussions at our recent meeting on how we can improve this.
